Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has intensified his criticism of the government over the closure of Tata Chemicals operations in Magadi. Speaking to Kenyans in the United States during a church service, the DCP leader said the Maasai community must be fully involved in selecting a new investor, insisting the mineral-rich land is community-owned rather than government land. Gachagua also blamed the government for the water crisis in the area, saying the suspension of Tata Chemicals operations disrupted water supplies to local residents.
