Elvis Muigua poses with his 2026 NCBA Kenya Railway Invitational trophy/HANDOUT Muigua hopes his second Kenya Amateur Golf Championship (KAGC) victory of the season will provide the momentum he needs to finish the campaign strongly.The Windsor Golf Club player clinched the NCBA Railway Invitation at Kenya Railways Golf Club in Nairobi on Sunday, carding a three-round total of 217, one-over par, to strengthen his challenge in the closing stages of the championship.Muigua, who had earlier won the NCBA Ronald Marshall and Toby Gibson Tournament at Njoro Golf Club in May, believes the latest victory has boosted his confidence ahead of the remaining KAGC events.“I am very happy to have won here at Kenya Railways. The 67 on Saturday gave me a good position going into the final round, and although today was not as comfortable, I managed to stay focused and get the job done. Winning my second KAGC event of the season gives me a lot of confidence as we head into the remaining tournaments,” said Muigua.He opened the Railway Invitation with a three-over 75 on Friday before producing the tournament’s best round, a five-under 67, on Saturday to move into contention. He closed with a 75 to finish four shots clear of Sigona’s Aarush Vara, who was second on 223.Eldoret’s Ken Serem was third on 224, while VetLab’s Ebill Omollo finished fourth on 225.Nakuru’s John Kamaisi and Sigona’s Yuvraj Rajput tied for fifth on 226, with Muthaiga’s Eugene Wafula seventh on 228 alongside Golf Park’s James Maina and Peter Macharia.VetLab’s Mikael Kihara and Muthaiga’s Bo Cierra both finished on 229.The Railway Invitation is part of the 2026 KAGC calendar, with players accumulating points towards the championship standings and international amateur rankings.Muigua will now turn his attention to the remaining events of the season, where he will seek to build on his Railway performance and strengthen his position among the leading contenders.NCBA Assistant Relationship Manager Florence Mutua congratulated Muigua on his victory and hailed the depth of talent displayed during the three-day competition.“Congratulations to Elvis Muigua on a well-earned victory and to all the golfers who competed throughout the three days.
