A new uniform may improve the image of the police, but deeper institutional reforms are needed. Security analyst George Musamali says the Police Service has a tainted public image and changing the colour and appearance of uniforms can help reshape public perception. However, he argues that this must be followed by action against rogue officers and reforms targeting the conduct and professionalism of the service.
