Political activist aspirant Morara Kebaso has attracted attention after appearing publicly with a woman identified as Pauline.
Pauline shared a mirror selfie video on September 3, 2026, showing herself alongside Morara and introducing him as her husband.
The video quickly circulated online, with social media users questioning Morara’s relationship status and what had happened to his estranged wife, Mercy Makini.
Pauline’s video sparks questions.
The brief video appeared to be a personal social media post, but it drew considerable attention because Pauline introduced Morara as her husband.
Morara and Mercy had previously been publicly known as a married couple. In November 2024, Morara celebrated six years of marriage and spoke about the lessons he had learnt during their relationship.
The latest development therefore prompted renewed interest in the couple’s private life.
In a statement addressing the growing discussion, he said he had initially preferred not to discuss his family on social media.
“I will not want to discuss my family on social media.”
Morara said he was responding because misinformation had started circulating online.
Morara speaks about Mercy and their children.
In his statement, Morara acknowledged Mercy as the mother of their three children.
He named the children as Zainah Morara, Garang Morara and MK Junior, while asking the public to accord Mercy respect.
“Mercy has earned her place of high respect as the mother of 3 children.”
Morara also said different families have different ways of handling private matters.
“Your values are not our values. Your choices are not our choices.”
He did not publicly explain the nature of his relationship with Pauline in that statement.
Mercy says she walked away.
Mercy later responded, saying she had chosen to keep the separation private for about six months.
She said she decided to speak after Morara addressed their family situation publicly.
“For the past six months, I have chosen to be the bigger person and keep this matter private out of respect for everyone involved.”
Mercy also accused Morara of portraying himself as a victim and questioned his comments about their children.
Morara subsequently defended his role as a father, saying he had attended his children’s school meetings and made efforts to remain involved in their lives. He also said he had attempted reconciliation after the separation, including visiting Mercy’s parents in Bobasi.
