‎Former Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has dismissed reports circulating about his wellbeing, assuring friends, colleagues and the public that he is well and in good spirits.

‎Balala said he was aware of the information being shared but described it as misleading and unfounded.

‎“I am well and in good spirits. I am aware of the misleading information that has been circulating, but I want to assure everyone that it is unfounded,” Balala said.

‎The former Cabinet secretary thanked those who had reached out to him or expressed concern following the circulation of the reports.

‎“I thank the Almighty for His mercy and protection,” he said, adding the Islamic expression, “Hasbunallahu wa ni‘mal wakeel.”

‎Balala also appreciated the messages of concern and goodwill from his friends and former colleagues, reassuring them that there was no cause for alarm.

‎“I appreciate the concern and kind thoughts from friends and colleagues,” he said.

‎His statement comes amid increased circulation of unverified information on social media, where claims about public figures can quickly spread without confirmation.

‎Balala, who served as Tourism Cabinet Secretary for more than a decade across successive administrations, has remained a prominent figure in Kenya's public and political affairs.

‎His clarification seeks to put to rest speculation about his condition and reassure those who had been concerned by the reports.

‎The former minister's message was brief but direct, with his emphasis on being “well and in good spirits” intended to counter the claims making rounds.
