The proposed Good Pharmacy Practice Guidelines will not bar pharmaceutical technologists from handling medicines, but will change who can supervise pharmacy services at different levels of health facilities. Dr. Anthony Codillo, a member of the National Pharmacy Council, says diploma holders will continue working in levels three to six facilities but will no longer be the superintendents. He says level three and four facilities will require a pharmacist, while level five and six will require a specialist pharmacist with a master’s degree in clinical pharmacy.
