Sidian Bank’s Head of Legal and Company Secretary, Sarah Chepsoi, has been recognised among Kenya’s leading in-house legal professionals in the 2026 Legal 500 GC Powerlist.
Chepsoi was named among the honourees under the Financial & Commercial Services sector, in recognition of her contribution to strategic growth and corporate governance.
The list was unveiled on September 1 at Sankara Hotel in Nairobi during an event held in partnership with law firm ENS.
The recognition marked the third edition of the GC Powerlist East Africa, bringing together legal professionals from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ethiopia and Burundi.
The recognition places her among professionals shaping the role of in-house legal teams in Kenya’s financial and commercial sector.
Chepsoi was recognised in the Financial and Commercial Services category, highlighting her contribution to the banking sector and corporate governance.
Her recognition was welcomed by Sidian Bank, which described the achievement as a reflection of the resilience and forward-looking approach that guides its work in supporting businesses.
Chepsoi has more than a decade of experience in banking law. She began her career as an advocate of the High Court of Kenya before becoming a Certified Public Secretary.
She holds a law degree from Makerere University in Uganda and a Master of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi.
In her current position, she oversees the bank’s legal affairs while also serving as Company Secretary.
Chepsoi said the achievement reflected the broader efforts of the team as Sidian Bank continues to support business growth across the country.
She attributed the recognition to the collective resilience and forward-thinking approach of the bank’s team.
“I exist to make an impact and live by what is right and fair,” she said, describing herself as a team player who considers her work meaningful and believes achievements should be celebrated when they deliver positive results.
