Most parts of the country are expected to experience dry conditions this September due to the influence of the southeast monsoon. However, several counties, particularly in western Kenya, the Rift Valley and the Coast, are likely to receive rainfall. These include Trans Nzoia, Bungoma, Kakamega, Kisumu, Kericho, Kisii, Homa Bay, Bomet, Migori, parts of Narok and Baringo, as well as Mombasa, Kwale, Kilifi, Lamu and coastal Tana River. The rainfall will be supported by moisture from Lake Victoria and the Indian Ocean, as well as local weather and topographical factors.
