The NCCK is warning politicians against ethnic incitement and hate speech ahead of next year’s elections. Secretary General Chris Kinyanjui says freedom of expression does not extend to remarks that inflame passions and could push Kenya towards a repeat of the 2007 post-election violence. He says politicians should not panic over the polls, but allow voters to hold them accountable, whether they win or lose.
