Parents have been urged to maintain close communication with their children, particularly those attending day schools, to understand the challenges they face and help them avoid moral misconduct and gender-based violence. Kilifi County Gender Executive Dama Masha says some cases of gender-based violence occur after schools reopen, as many parents struggle to spend enough time with their children due to demanding school and work schedules.
