ODM leader and Siaya Senator Oburu Oginga has reassured Kenyans that he is well after reports about his health caused concern online.
The veteran politician addressed the speculation on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, after reports claimed he had been admitted to hospital.
Oburu took to Facebook and shared photos of himself at his Nairobi home, including one showing him having breakfast and another of him reading a newspaper with a friend. The images came as Kenyans sought clarity over his health.

Oburu said he had only made a brief visit to the hospital for a general check-up with his doctors before returning home.
“I have read the nation's digital news and wish to state that I am very well.”

The senator also addressed reports suggesting that he had been readmitted to hospital.
He questioned whether those spreading the reports had spoken to him directly.
Oburu Tells Kenyans Not to Panic
The ODM leader said seeking medical attention should not automatically cause alarm.
“Being sick is a normal human experience and should not alarm anyone.”

“The day I am truly sick, I will inform you all, for I am a very transparent person.”
His statement was followed by an outpouring of relief from followers.
