Nairobi’s burger scene is in overdrive, with more than 400 restaurants offering special menus as the 2026 Nairobi Burger Week enters its final four days.

The annual food campaign officially launched on August 27 and runs until September 6, bringing restaurants across the capital together around one of the city’s most popular foods.

The campaign is also tapping into a growing way of discovering where to eat, as recommendations from friends, food creators and online communities increasingly influence dining choices.

For participating restaurants, Burger Week offers a chance to attract diners looking for something different, while allowing consumers to explore new places or return to familiar favourites.

“Food is increasingly becoming one of the ways people discover and experience Nairobi,” the General Manager at EatOut Kenya, Wendy Lorenze, said.

“We see people constantly sharing where they have eaten, recommending hidden gems and encouraging others to try new places.”

Lorenze said the campaign was created around that culture of discovery.

“Burger Week brings that spirit of discovery into one shared experience, giving people a reason to explore restaurants they may not have visited before while celebrating the diversity of Nairobi’s food scene,” she said.

During the 10 day campaign, diners can find participating restaurants and their Burger Week offers through the EatOut website and Instagram page.

The participating venues feature different burger experiences, giving customers a range of options across Nairobi.

The campaign has also attracted partners from the food, beverage, mobility, delivery and payments sectors, with various offers available to diners during the event.

Customers ordering food at home can access discounts and delivery offers through participating platforms.

There are also offers for customers travelling to participating restaurants, while diners paying through mobile money can access rewards at participating venues.

The campaign comes at a time when conversations about restaurants, new dining spots and hidden gems increasingly take place online.

A recommendation from a friend, a post from a food creator or a conversation in an online community can now influence where someone chooses to eat.

For many Nairobians, discovering a new restaurant has become part of the experience.

A restaurant in a neighbourhood they rarely visit, a burger they have seen online, or a recommendation from someone they trust can be enough to make them try somewhere new.

Burger Week is bringing some of those discoveries into a single 10-day campaign.

For diners, the choices range from discovering a restaurant in a new neighbourhood to trying a different take on a familiar burger or visiting a spot that has been generating attention.

With the campaign running until September 6, Nairobians have a few days left to explore the participating restaurants and see what is on offer.
