President William Ruto has announced a major reduction in the cost of cancer medicines following a new agreement between Pfizer and the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority, KEMSA. Ruto says the deal will reduce prices of some cancer medicines more than seven-fold, with treatments that previously cost up to one million shillings falling to less than 50-thousand shillings per cycle. The agreement covers medicines for several cancers, including breast, lung and prostate cancer.
