Kenya’s debt crisis is being driven by persistent budget deficits, forcing the government to borrow to bridge the gap between its expenditure and revenue. This is according to International relations expert Solomon Kimaita who says part of the new borrowing is being used to service old debts and finance recurrent expenditure rather than income-generating projects, creating a vicious cycle of borrowing.
