Health CS Aden Duale says Kenya is committed to ensuring sickle cell disease does not determine a child’s quality or length of life. CS Duale says an estimated 250,000 Kenyans live with the disease, with about 14,000 affected children born annually. He has called for universal infant screening, reliable access to treatment and stronger referral systems to ensure early diagnosis and continuity of care living with sickle.
