President William Ruto has called on African financial institutions to take the lead in partnering with governments to grow economies, deepen capital markets and develop infrastructure. Speaking after meeting Standard Bank Group CEO Sim Tshabalala at State House, Nairobi, Ruto praised the bank as a key partner in Kenya’s infrastructure development, including the expansion of the Standard Gauge Railway and Rironi-Mau Summit Highway. He said the government remains committed to working with investors to develop airports, roads, dual carriageways and dams.
