Former Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has criticised government spending on the rollout of the country’s new police uniform, questioning whether the state is getting the greatest possible value from resources allocated to the exercise. In a statement posted on his X account, Matiang’i said the government should not automatically procure goods and services externally where existing public institutions have the capacity to deliver them.
