Former Chief Justice David Maraga has criticized President William Ruto’s administration for failing to significantly implement the police reforms taskforce report submitted nearly three years ago. Maraga, who chaired the taskforce, said the Constitution requires the National Police Service to remain independent. He condemned the use of police service  to settle political scores and violate human rights, calling for an end to state capture of the security system.
