Governors have called on striking nurses to return to work as negotiations over their grievances continue. Council of Governors chairperson Ahmed Abdullahi maintains that the strike is illegal and has directed governors to take action against nurses who have defied court orders directing them to resume work. The nurses have been on strike for five weeks, demanding the implementation of their CBA, clear promotion and career progression pathways, and resolution of issues surrounding the employment of UHC workers, among other grievances.
