Feeling healthy is the biggest barrier to routine health screening, according to a survey by Doctors for Healthy Living. Seventy-two percent of Kenyans who had not undergone a health check in the past 12 months said they felt healthy, while 18 percent cited lack of time, 12 percent blamed inconvenient timing and 10 percent cited cost. The findings show many Kenyans seek screening only when sick. Women also recorded higher awareness and screening rates than men.
