The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA)-led multi-agency team has conducted two intelligence-led operations in Nairobi’s South B area, recovering suspected narcotics and prescription drugs and arresting two suspects.
The operations, conducted along Plains View Road in South B, Starehe Sub-County, targeted a shop where officers from NACADA, the National Police Service and South B Police Station seized several rolls and 101 small polythene sachets containing dry plant material suspected to be narcotics.
Officers also recovered Rizla papers and a digital weighing scale, among other items.
In a related operation in the same neighbourhood, officers recovered additional rolls of similar plant material.
All exhibits were secured and booked at Muthaiga Police Station, while the suspects remain in custody pending their arraignment in court.
The operations come amid increased public concern over the proliferation of narcotics in Nairobi.
NACADA has been conducting nationwide enforcement operations, with a special focus on the capital city, which accounts for a significant share of drug consumption.

NACADA Legal Services Director Leackey Illa, who led the operations, warned drug traffickers and their associates that the Authority was stepping up efforts against criminal networks.
"All drug traffickers and their associates have been put on notice. The Authority is coming for them," said Illa.
"We are working closely with the community to identify and root out criminals from society to ensure that our communities are protected from the negative effects of alcohol and drug abuse."
Illa emphasised that community cooperation remains a critical pillar in the fight against narcotics and urged residents to continue sharing information with authorities.
The South B operations followed actionable intelligence, highlighting the role of public cooperation in efforts to disrupt drug supply chains.
The Authority has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting communities from the harms of drugs and substance abuse, with enforcement teams remaining active across the country.
