Four years into President William Ruto’s administration, the government says it has strengthened primary healthcare by taking services closer to households. The approach is anchored on Community Health Promoters, Primary Care Networks, household screening, community health units and digital tools linking families to health facilities. The number of CHPs rose from 101,100 in 2022 to 107,831 in 2023, remaining at that level through 2024.
