As Kenya marks 16 years of the 2010 Constitution, former Chief Justice David Maraga has warned that the supreme law is currently under siege from constant violations, the erosion of the Bill of Rights, and growing state capture. Through his Katiba Day statement, Maraga called on citizens, civil society and the judiciary to remain vigilant and actively defend their democratic gains ahead of the 2027 elections.
