COTU has cautioned former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua against making unsubstantiated claims that the IEBC’s election technology procurement process was designed to favour a South Korean firm. COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli warned that such allegations could trigger violence, threatening the livelihoods of workers, women and children. Atwoli said the remarks could also lay the political groundwork for rejecting the 2027 election results in advance by undermining the credibility of the independent commission without evidence.
