African countries are strengthening cooperation to tackle cross-border health emergencies through a new memorandum on collaboration and the launch of an Mpox vaccine stockpile mechanism. Public Health PS Mary Muthoni says health emergencies do not respect national borders, making regional cooperation critical. The initiatives will improve information sharing, harmonise response protocols and support faster and more equitable access to essential medical supplies across Africa.
