Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has chaired a coordination meeting to review progress in the construction and operationalisation of the first eight County Aggregation and Industrial Parks (CAIPs)

The meeting brought together the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, relevant governors and government agencies responsible for enabling utilities

Kindiki said the Government is accelerating the finalisation of the eight parks as the first step towards creating a newly industrialised economy

Meru, Embu, Kirinyaga, Kisii, Busia, Migori, Garissa and Wajir CAIPs are nearly complete, with procurement of common user facilities underway

According to Kindiki, raw materials for aggregation and value addition have been mobilised, while private sector investor and operator frameworks are being finalised

The Government is seeking to complete and operationalise the first eight parks as it advances its plans for aggregation and value addition.

Kindiki held a coordination meeting with the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, relevant governors and government agencies responsible for providing utilities.

The meeting reviewed the progress of the CAIPs programme and efforts to finalise their construction and operationalisation.
