Homa Bay and other counties in the Lake Region have been commended for reducing new HIV infections to about 15 percent. National Syndemic Diseases Control Council CEO Douglas Bosire attributes the progress to joint efforts by county governments, health workers, communities and other stakeholders. Bosire says the gains demonstrate the importance of coordinated interventions in tackling HIV and other syndemic diseases, while urging counties to sustain the momentum.
