NCIC says it has intensified its crackdown on verbal and digital hate speech ahead of the August 2027 General Election. Chairperson Kepha Omae particularly warned of rising hate speech, misinformation, propaganda and inflammatory rhetoric on social media. He said inflammatory texts, videos and commentary shared on platforms such as WhatsApp, Facebook and TikTok attract the same legal penalties as statements made during physical political rallies.
