
Detectives in Kiambu County have launched investigations into the death of a 59-year-old man whose body was found outside a medical facility in Kiambaa Sub-County.
The deceased, identified as Ferdinand Mulwa Maundu, was found outside St. John the Baptist Dispensary in the Kiambeya area on August 23, 2026.
The incident was reported by a clinical nurse after members of the public brought the body to the dispensary.
The body had visible burns on the neck and chest, which police suspected could have been caused by an acidic substance.
The nature and cause of the injuries, however, remained subject to forensic and postmortem examination.
Police processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to Kikuyu Hospital Mortuary.
Elsewhere, police in Kiambu County launched investigations into the death of a 33-year-old woman whose body was found in a coffee farm in Juja Sub-County.
The woman was found dead inside a bush within Kiaora Coffee Farm, about 70 metres from the Juja-Gatundu road, on Sunday, August 23, 2026.
The discovery was reported to police at about 1:30 pm by Kiaora Location Chief Samuel Waweru after the public found the body.
According to preliminary police findings, the woman was on her way to Mtaro Estate shortly after 6 am, where she worked, when police said she may have been accosted by people.
Police were investigating whether she was sexually assaulted before being strangled.
Her body was partially clothed, with bruising around the neck that police said was consistent with force and strangulation.
Investigators also reported signs of a struggle, with the woman’s belongings scattered around.
Police processed and documented the scene before the body was removed and taken to Thika General Kago Mortuary, where it was preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Detectives have launched investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and determine whether anyone may have been involved.
Meanwhile, police in Bungoma County have launched investigations into the death of a 58-year-old man whose body was found inside his house in Dankaru Village, Cheptais Sub-County.
The deceased, identified as Wycliffe Wakuabubi Kumali, was found lying on his back in his bedroom on August 23, 2026.
He was found with bruises on his neck, chest, left ear and left hand.
Police also noted that the door to the house had been closed from the outside, raising questions about the circumstances surrounding his death.
The scene was processed and documented by police officers as investigations commenced.
The body was removed and taken to Bungoma Referral Hospital Mortuary, where it was preserved pending a postmortem examination to establish the cause and circumstances of his death.
Detectives are investigating the incident and seeking to establish the circumstances of the man's death and whether anyone may have been involved.
