The East Africa region has made significant progress in expanding access to education, but learning outcomes remain a concern. EAC CS Beatrice Askul says millions more children are now in school compared to a generation ago, yet access has grown faster than learning. She says too many children complete years of schooling without acquiring basic literacy and numeracy skills, calling for greater focus on educational outcomes.
