Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi has warned that political violence during the 2027 elections could have far-reaching economic consequences. CS Mudavadi says peace gives families, businesses and investors’ confidence to plan, invest and create jobs. He recalled the 2007-2008 post-election violence, when lives were lost, families displaced, businesses destroyed and economic activity disrupted. Mudavadi says preventing political violence is therefore not only about protecting elections, but also livelihoods, the economy and Kenyan lives.
