National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula on Friday attended an empowerment drive at St Francis Milima Comprehensive School in Likuyani Constituency, Kakamega County, where Bungoma Council of Elders Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (BUCOE SACCO) members gathered for a community empowerment event.

Wetang’ula commended the SACCO leadership and members for embracing the cooperative model as a means of promoting grassroots economic empowerment and improving livelihoods.

The event highlighted the role of cooperatives in enabling communities to save, access credit and invest, while strengthening community-owned financial institutions as part of broader efforts to support economic growth.
