Samuel Kilonzo, the celebrity barber better known as Sam Kitiki, has shared a worrying update regarding his health. Taking to Instagram, he revealed the severe physical toll of his ongoing battle with stomach cancer.
The man once known for his muscular build is now appealing for public support as his condition worsens.
A Stark Transformation
The change in Kitiki’s appearance is significant. In 2023, he was a heavy and muscular man. During that phase, he weighed between 160 and 172 kilogrammes. He then began to experience a drastic loss of weight.
In a recent post, Kitiki shared a photograph showing the current state of his body. He revealed that his weight has now plummeted to just 29 kilogrammes.
"Things are getting worse. I'm now 29 kgs, and the Cancer is now evident in my mouth and lips,” he posted.
Choosing Between Health and Business
The illness has created a difficult financial situation for the barber. Kitiki explained that he has struggled to maintain his small barbershop while fighting the disease. He admitted that he has been forced to make painful choices regarding his finances.
Kitiki chose to invest his treatment money back into his business. He hoped the shop would provide enough income to sustain both his health and his livelihood. However, the business has struggled to attract customers.
"The biggest challenge right now is not just the illness itself, but the stress and lack of consistent medication—something that has been caused by my struggle to keep my small barbershop running,” Kitiki added.
A Struggle for Dignity
Despite his deteriorating health, Kitiki expressed a strong desire to continue working. He noted that there are days when no customers walk into his shop. This lack of income has made it difficult to afford the medication he requires.
"I believe in working hard and earning my living with dignity."
The barber shared that the journey is beginning to wear him down. He remains determined to fight the illness but admits he is "human" and needs help to continue.
"I want to keep fighting. I don’t want to give up. But I am human, and this journey is wearing me down."
An Appeal for Support
Kitiki is now asking the public for assistance to save his life and his business. He has requested that people visit his shop, get a haircut, or recommend his services to others. He believes this support will give him a fighting chance.
