TENP demonstrated its excellence in the creative arts during the prestigious festivals held at Kibabii University in Bungoma county.
Chief principal Charles Koech said the institution was proud of its students and trainers who represented the college at the competition.
“We are so proud of the team that represented us at the festival, where they ensured that we retained our position as the best national polytechnic,” he said.
The event brought together schools, colleges and institutions from across the country to showcase their musical talents.
TENP was among the institutions recognised for outstanding performances, emerging as the Best National Polytechnic in the 2026 competition.
Koech was present when the institution received its trophy during the State Concert held at the State Lodge in Bungoma and presided over by President William Ruto.
“The achievement is a testament to the talent, dedication and commitment of the students and staff of the Eldoret National Polytechnic,” he said.
Koech said TENP focuses on providing all-round training to learners, ensuring they excel in both academic and co-curricular activities.
“We give our learners the best chance and training to excel in all areas, academically and in the creative arts, among other areas,” he said.
Residents of Eldoret, led by Benjamin Leting, praised the college for maintaining its top position in the TVET sector, describing it as a leading centre of excellence in the country.
“These achievements are because of the sound leadership of the institution led by Koech, who works well with learners, lecturers and the community around the institution,” he said.
Last April, TENP recorded a strong performance at the Kenya National Drama Festivals in Nyeri county, winning 16 major trophies across multiple categories.
Koech said the institution’s success reflected its commitment to nurturing both academic excellence and student talent.
He said the institution continued to raise its national profile through consistent performance in co-curricular activities.
“Our tutors and students have raised the name of the school and we are happy with this sterling performance,” Koech said.
