More Kenyans at the bottom of the pyramid who previously struggled to secure financing from banks, SACCOs and microfinance institutions can now access affordable loans through the Hustler Fund, launched in November 2022. President William Ruto says four years later, the programme has reached 28 million Kenyans and disbursed Sh90 billion. Of the registered customers, 10 million are repeat borrowers.
