A public dispute has erupted between popular TikToker Kaluma Boy and Bishop Ben Kiengei of Jesus Celebration Ministry (JCM). The row centres on millions of shillings raised in October 2025 for Kaluma’s ailing father.

The disagreement began when Kaluma Boy aired grievances during a TikTok live session. Bishop Kiengei later responded with a detailed statement on Facebook. The exchange has highlighted deep divisions over how the donated funds were managed.

The Missing Millions and Land Disputes

Kaluma Boy claimed that the total amount raised reached 5.4 million shillings. He alleged that while a one-acre piece of land in Chaka was purchased for 1.5 million shillings, the market price was lower.

"That land was being sold for 1.2 million, but he sold it to us for 1.5 million."

Kaluma also detailed an unexpected hotel bill. He claimed his family was left at the hotel for two weeks without being told they had to pay. He was later asked to settle a bill of 206,550 shillings.

Allegations of Medical Neglect

A major point of contention involves the father’s medical care. Kaluma alleged that his mother had to take a 50,000 shilling loan from Equity Bank to pay a therapist. He claimed the Bishop had stopped answering calls when the payments were due.

"My mother took the father to the bank to sign for a loan to pay the therapist."

However, Bishop Kiengei denied these claims of neglect. He stated he had already paid nearly one million shillings for the father’s stay at Jumuia Hospital. He also claimed to have sent 60,000 shillings recently to cover therapist costs.

I sent Mama Kaluma 60k to pay the therapist I assigned who has been with Baba kaluma and that's why you can see him walking, eating and the Catheters were removed he can now do things on his own. I kept that man at Jumuia Hospital Huruma, for two months where I paid almost a Million.

The Bishop’s Defence

Bishop Kiengei maintained that he never personally handled the family’s money. He stated that 2.5 million shillings were raised at JCM Church and deposited directly into the family's account. He added that 800,000 shillings in cash were handed to Kaluma and his brother.

"Bishop Ben has never been anyway involved in any direct payment or handling any money from this family."

The Bishop also highlighted the construction of a new home for the family. He claimed the house is 98% complete and that he personally wrote a 500,000 shilling cheque for finishing works like gypsum and glass.

Education and Lifestyle Clashes

The dispute has also turned personal regarding Kaluma’s education. The Bishop claimed he secured a university scholarship for the TikToker and spent 367,000 shillings on his needs. He alleged that Kaluma stopped attending classes and has been seen frequently in Utawala instead.

"Ask Kaluma the last day he was seen in school, he has been all over Utawala and he knows the videos I can release from Mofarm apartments CCTV are not good and the behaviors he changed into,he added.

Kaluma countered this by saying he had to "defer this semester" because life became difficult. He claimed that a promised 6,000 shilling monthly pocket money was only paid once.

As the war of words continues, the Bishop’s team has promised a further statement from their patron to clarify all allegations. For now, the public remains divided over the accountability of the funds meant to support a vulnerable family.
