Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga says the poor state of roads in parts of Suba South reflects decades of historical marginalization rather than failure by the devolved government. Wanga says images of the dilapidated Mbita–Sindo–Kiabuya–Sori corridor have highlighted an infrastructure problem residents have endured for generations. She says the roads should not be ridiculed but viewed as evidence of an infrastructure deficit that has constrained economic growth.
