Kenya created about 3.27 million jobs between 2022 and 2025, employment figures show, with most generated in the informal sector. According to KNBS statistics, the country created 816,600 jobs in 2022, 848,000 in 2023, 782,000 in 2024 and 822,100 in 2025. Of the total, about 2.84 million jobs, or 87 per cent, were created in the informal sector, while approximately 420,000 were modern or formal-sector jobs.
