The controversy began when the couple posted a video with a text overlay asking their audience, "So Video ya Face Reveal Tupeleke wapi?"
The question, which translates to asking where they should post the video revealing their son's face, met with a largely indifferent and sometimes hostile reception.

A significant portion of the backlash centred on the current political atmosphere in Kenya. Many fans suggested they were far too busy with election campaigns to care about a celebrity baby’s face.
