Six years have passed since the tragic day that changed Faustine Lukale’s life forever. Known to millions as Baba Talisha, the content creator and photographer took to social media this weekend to mark a painful and sombre milestone.
On 15 August 2026, he shared a heartfelt reflection on the loss of his wife, Milka, who was affectionately known to his followers as Mama T.
A Day of Lasting Change
The tribute was brief but deeply personal. It showed the enduring presence of a woman whose life was cut short in a devastating road accident in 2020.
“15th August 2020 — a day that changed our lives forever,” he wrote in his opening statement. He noted that while time has moved on, the emotional weight of her absence remains.
“Today marks 6 years since Mama T left us, yet her love, memories, and presence remain deeply rooted in our hearts,” he shared with his audience.
“Six years may have passed, but some people are simply impossible to forget.”
The anniversary post did not focus on the tragedy itself, but rather on the character of the woman he lost. He described a person of great warmth and impact.
“We remember her beautiful heart, her strength, her kindness, her laughter, and the love she poured into those around her,” the post read. He further emphasised that the connection they shared remains untouched by the passage of years.

A Tragic Legacy on the Road
The background of this story is well-known to the Kenyan public. In August 2020, the family was involved in a horrific car crash on Thika Road. While Faustine survived, his wife succumbed to her injuries.
Their young daughter, Talisha, was left in a critical condition and spent weeks in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The road to recovery for the toddler was long, involving multiple surgeries and intensive therapy for brain injuries.
This journey turned Baba Talisha into a symbol of dedicated fatherhood, as he chronicled the challenges of raising a child with medical needs as a widower.
Road safety remains a critical issue in the region. According to data from the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA), Kenya recorded over 3,000 road fatalities in 2020 alone, the year of the accident. These figures highlight the scale of the "silent epidemic" on the country’s motorways.
