Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP) leader Rigathi Gachagua is expected to address Kenyans in a briefing dubbed “Ruto @4.”
On Monday, Gachagua intensified his party's popularisation drive in Narok East.
He addressed a rally in Narok East on Monday, August 10, 2026, exactly one year before the August 10, 2027 General Election.
The rally drew large crowds, with videos from the area showing supporters dressed in DCP colours turning out for the former Deputy President's tour.
Gachagua told supporters that the countdown to the next presidential election had entered its final year, declaring that the Opposition would use the remaining period to mobilise Kenyans for political change
“Let us listen to the ground,” Gachagua told his supporters
He said the political journey to defeat Ruto had officially started in Narok East.
Court to rule on bid to suspend NTSA e-logbook rollout
The High Court is expected to deliver a ruling on a petition seeking to suspend the implementation of the National Transport and Safety Authority’s electronic logbook programme.
The petitioners have challenged the rollout, citing concerns over public participation, data protection and fair administrative action.
MoH media town hall with editors, journalists
The Ministry of Health will hold a media town hall engagement bringing together editors and journalists for an open exchange with Kenya’s health leaders.
The engagement will focus on healthcare issues and provide the media with an opportunity to engage directly with health officials.
The event will be held at Radisson Blu Hotel, Nairobi Upper Hill, from 7 am to 10 am.
Transport Committee to inspect NTSA facilities over reforms
The National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Transport will tour the NTSA Inspection Centre on Likoni Road and the authority’s headquarters in Upper Hill to assess the implementation of recent reforms.
The tour is scheduled for 9:30 am.
Collection of unclaimed bodies
Nairobi City County has asked Kenyans to identify and collect 473 unclaimed bodies lying at the Nairobi Funeral Home, formerly known as Nairobi City Mortuary, within seven days.
In a public notice issued by the County Health, Nutrition and Wellness department, the county said the bodies had remained at the facility since their dates of admission while awaiting collection.
The county is asking relatives, friends and other interested members of the public to check the list and identify any of the bodies.
The notice was issued pursuant to the Public Health Act, Cap 242, and the Public Health (Public Mortuaries) Rules, 1991.
