Employers are calling for policy measures to address the shortage of formal jobs and the long-promised adjustment of PAYE bands. Federation of Kenya Employers CEO Jacqueline Mugo says reviewing the tax bands would free up Kenyans’ spending power and ease financial pressure. She also warns that some employers are currently unable to comply with the Employment Act’s two-thirds deductions rule due to high statutory deductions from workers’ salaries.
