President William Ruto says his efforts to unite the country began immediately after the 2022 General Election. Speaking during the ongoing retreat of elected leaders under the broad-based government in Naivasha, Ruto said he reached out to former ODM leader, the late Raila Odinga, despite having competed against him in the polls. He urged leaders to set aside political differences and work together for national unity.
