Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata says the Kenya Kwanza government is losing popularity in the Mt Kenya region, blaming high taxes and policies he says are hurting ordinary Kenyans. Kang’ata cites the Affordable Housing Levy as one of the policies fuelling public discontent. He also attributes the declining support to the impeachment of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, saying the move alienated sections of the region.
