The Environment and Land Court in Nairobi has issued a temporary injunction stopping a popular bar Lavington from playing music at its premises pending an inspection report on compliance with environmental noise regulations. Lady Justice T. Murigi issued the orders after hearing an application by Allan Monroe, who had complained about excessive noise allegedly emanating from the establishment. The court directed the Nairobi City County and NEMA to inspect the premises and ascertain whether the establishment is complying with the Environmental Management and Coordination Act on excessive noise.
