A 28-year-old Kenya Power technician died after falling from an electric pole while on duty in Garissa Town.
The incident occurred at the Regional Police Training College (RPTC), where the employee, identified as Brayan Ngugi, was carrying out electrical work.
According to police, Ngugi slipped and fell from the pole, sustaining fatal injuries.
He was rushed to Garissa Teaching and Referral Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by doctors.
Police officers visited the scene and documented the incident.
The body was moved to the Garissa Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal workplace accident.
Meanwhile, a 54-year-old livestock trader was killed after he was attacked by unknown assailants in Gucha Sub-County, Kisii County, in what police suspect may have been a robbery.
James Bogita Nyandika sustained two deep cuts to the head during the attack near Nyakundo Water Supply on Thursday. He was rushed to Nyangena Private Hospital in Kisii but died while undergoing treatment.
Police officers who visited the scene found signs of a struggle and a large pool of blood. However, no eyewitnesses had come forward by the time investigations began.
Investigators said Nyandika was a businessman dealing in livestock and is believed to have been returning from Mogonga Market, where he regularly conducted his business, when he was attacked.
His cousin recovered Sh100,000 from the deceased after the incident. Police said the money had not been stolen, leaving the motive for the attack unclear.
Nyandika, who lived alone at Sengera Trading Centre, was later identified at Nyangena Mortuary, where officers confirmed he had sustained two deep cut wounds to the head.

Police have also launched investigations after the body of an unidentified middle-aged man was found along the Southern Bypass in Nairobi in what is being treated as a suspected murder.
The body was discovered on Tuesday morning at around 8 a.m. in a drainage channel near the Affordable Housing project along the Southern Bypass by a traffic police officer on patrol.
Police responded to the scene and found the man, believed to be a street dweller, lying on his back in a pool of blood.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had a deep sharp-object injury to the right thigh, which is believed to have caused fatal bleeding.
Police suspect the victim was attacked by unknown assailants during the night and left at the scene, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers processed the scene before the body was moved to the Nairobi Funeral Home for preservation, identification and a post-mortem examination.
