Turkana Deputy Governor John Erus has urged the Commission on Revenue Allocation to consider refugee-hosting status in determining how national revenue is shared among counties. Erus noted that Turkana and Garissa, Kenya’s two refugee-hosting counties, continue to face funding gaps in delivering devolved services. He said allocating funds based on refugee burden would improve coordination among humanitarian actors and strengthen social protection systems for host communities.
