The Senate has launched the inaugural County Fiscal Performance Measurement Index to strengthen oversight of county governments. Speaker Amason Kingi says the tool will assess counties using indicators such as budget implementation, own-source revenue, audit outcomes and development spending. He says the index is not meant to rank counties but to promote accountability, identify best practices and improve service delivery.
