Barack Obama was born on 4 August 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. He served as the President of the United States for two terms, from 2009 to 2017. He was the first African American to hold the office.
Before his presidency, he served as a civil rights attorney and a US Senator from Illinois. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2009.
He and Michelle Robinson married on 3 October 1992. They met while working at a law firm in Chicago. The couple has two daughters, Malia and Sasha Obama.
