Chief Justice Martha Koome has called for urgent and coordinated action to tackle the growing number of Sexual and Gender-Based Violence cases in Vihiga County, warning that the region continues to record some of the highest incidences of such offences in the country. CJ Koome urged justice sector stakeholders to work together to strengthen the response to SGBV by prioritising case handling, increasing public awareness, and implementing coordinated interventions. She directed the principal judge to lead the establishment of an SGBV working group within the Court Users Committee to oversee and coordinate responses to emerging challenges.
